Meet the team

  • Angelica Demetriou

    PRINCIPAL

    A leader in her field, Angelica has fifteen years of experience in art advising, corporate curating, collections management, communications, and arts publishing. She has worked with many of Canada’s most notable private and corporate collectors. Angelica is the former Director of Business Development and Communications at Tatar Art Projects where she led the firm’s cataloguing and corporate projects, and previously worked as Communications Manager of award-winning design firm PLANT Architect. Angelica is an active member of the visual arts community. She regularly serves on juries and committees, and currently sits on the Art Toronto Opening Night Committee for the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Angelica holds an MA in Art History and an Honours BA in English and Art History from the University of Toronto. In 2019, she was named an RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards finalist — a program that recognizes the country’s leading female entrepreneurs.

  • Elisa Coish

    CURATOR / ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

    Elisa is well known in the art community with over fifteen years of curatorial experience in the public and private sectors. Her expertise is rooted in contemporary art, and her curatorial practice has been deeply informed by the diverse collections and artists she has worked with to date. Elisa was formerly the Curator at Latcham Art Centre in Stouffville, Ontario, where she delivered engaging and inclusive exhibitions of contemporary art for the community. She previously served as Senior Associate Curator of BMO’s corporate art collection, supporting the management of an international art collection, annual student art competition, and a commissioned project space. Elisa has also worked with the Malcove Collection at the University of Toronto and at the Gardiner Museum. She earned her Honours BA in Art History and Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto.⁠

  • Caroline Pearson

    SENIOR ART CONSULTANT

    Caroline has over eight years of experience in the art world. She has held progressive roles at some of Canada’s most reputable galleries, most recently as Director at Nicholas Metivier Gallery in Toronto. In this capacity, she oversaw the gallery's art fair program, curating presentations at Art Toronto and Paris Photo. With a strong focus on contemporary art, both Canadian and international, Caroline's expertise extends to the Inuit and photography art markets. Her extensive experience led her to collaborate closely with some of Canada's most celebrated artists, and she has engaged with collectors and curators on an international scale. Caroline is actively involved in the art community as a member of the Curatorial Committee for the SNAP! Photographic Art Auction, in support of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). She holds an MA in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art, London, UK, and an Honours BA in Art History and International Relations from the University of Toronto.

  • Katlin Rogers

    SENIOR ART CONSULTANT / APPRAISER

    Katlin brings over six years of auction industry experience as a Canadian Art Specialist. She specialises in Blue Chip Historical and Post-War Canadian Art and their markets. Katlin is also an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers and has extensive experience providing formal appraisal reports for purposes of insurance coverage, estate planning, division of assets, and donation. She regularly contributes articles on global art market recaps, specialty art history topics, and art market interest pieces. In the community, Katlin enjoys mentoring new grads to help navigate a career in the art world and provides volunteering hours to the Canadian Chapter of the International Society of Appraisers. She earned her Honours BA in History and Theory of Art and History from the University of Ottawa, and her MA in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, UK.

  • Melissa Bessie

    COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT

    Melissa has a background in archival management, research, and photography. She was the Resident Archivist at Casey House where she catalogued and made accessible a collection of over 10,000 items spanning from 1987–2014. She has also worked with The Magenta Foundation where she co-curated a groundbreaking exhibition and helped publish a catalogue on the history of Toronto Pride using archival materials from The ArQuives — the largest LGBTQ2+ archive in Canada. Prior to these roles, Melissa completed a research and cataloguing internship with FFOTO in Toronto. She holds an MA in Photography Preservation and Collections Management and a BFA in Photography Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University.

  • Emily Sylman

    COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT

    Emily is an emerging photography preservation and collections management specialist. With a background in archival research, photography production, and curation, she is the former Curatorial/Research Resident at the National Gallery of Canada. Under the direction of the Senior Curator of Photographs at the NGC, Emily digitized over 1,200 archival photographs from the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography collection, and also assisted with a collection database audit for the Storage and Documentation team. Prior to this role, Emily worked as an Archive Photography Intern at MONOVA: Archives of North Vancouver in BC, where she created an exhibition about the history of photography that was selected for Vancouver’s 2022 Capture Photography Festival. She holds an MA in Film and Photography Preservation and Collections Management and a BFA in Photography Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University.

  • Erica Jochim

    CATALOGUING ASSISTANT

    Erica has a background in collections management, archival management, and research. She is the former Archive and Collections Assistant at Open Studio in Toronto, where she assisted with cataloguing, collections management, and exhibition programming. She has also worked as an Archival Assistant at the Canadian Heritage Photography Foundation, and as a Gallery Assistant at the Art Gallery of Mississauga. She holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art Design University (OCADU).

  • Claire Hinton

    PROJECT ASSISTANT

    Claire has a background in graphic design, editorial work, and research. She earned a Highly Commended Entrant Award in 2018 from the Global Undergraduate Awards for her art historical writing, research, and exhibition design. Her work has since been published online in The Undergraduate Library. She holds an Honours BA in Art History from Queen’s University, graduating with distinction and earning several awards and scholarships including the Frances K. Smith Scholarship in Art History, Milada Svaton Neumann Award, Dean’s Special Award, and Queen’s University Excellence Scholarship. Claire has experience working in the field in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
